Johnson's Backyard Garden Collaboration

I met the owner of Johnson's Backyard Garden (JBG) Brenton Johnson recently in Austin and we talked for a long time.  He and I have a lot of common interests and we are talking about doing some projects on his farm in Garfield,TX, just east of Austin.  Looking forward to working with Brenton.  Here's an entry in his blog.

Marfa : Chinati Weekend 2015

This year I'll be in Marfa again for Chinati Weekend.  I'll be at Building 98 where my permanent installation, Botanical Fossils, is located.  If you are in town come by, I'll be there.  Building 98 is located across the street from Chinati Foundation.  The address is 705 West Bonnie Street Marfa,TX 79843.  The installation is located outside and is comprised of 14 site specific pieces installed in 2014.  There are no gallery hours outside so you can see my work at any time.  Viewing the work at sunset is ideal due to the quality of light and the alignment of the pieces.

Preparing for Marfa Exhibit

I have been hand casting cement pieces for months and have hundreds of individual castings.   I'll be loading in the next several days for the drive out to Marfa in far west Texas. It will be a relief to hit the road and travel the wide open spaces of this beautiful arid land.   My art exhibit will open October 5th at Building 98 in Fort Russell located at 705 Bonnie Str, across the street from The Chinati Foundation. The reception will be held from 5-8pm on October 5th and the work will be installed for a few months and during 'Chinati Weekend' October 10-12, 2014.
